But if you read the thread it's not about "generalization" but rather making the observation that not having a local qualification might (not necessarily "will") be a problem, in certain situations....

Maybe, maybe not. Remember the job market won't always be as strong and not all recruiters know about foreign qualifications either.

But if you are determined to try to have a career in Australia...

It's really down to the individual to decide. I just would like to point out that many employers know nothing about non-Australian qualifications and really are not all that interested in finding...

All probably true, but it's also true that obtaining the Australian CA designation will likely open additional doors in the medium to long term.
