I hear on here and elsewhere that it's preferable time-wise to just go through the...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yes, I am in the US under an E-3 visa. I just wondered if there was a more 'all encompassing term' (probably containing the word 'alien') that I can state my status to the numerous people who have...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Ok, that's great info thanks. So what is the USCIS status for E-3? Is it just E-3 or what is the legal term? I've tried asking the immigration person at work but she has no idea :)

I have conflicting reports. Due to the visa not offering permanence like an...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

OK, I completely understand that there is no guarantee either way, I'm just trying to find out at what stage of the process I will discover they will not process it if that turns out to be the case. ...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Hmm. I don't know the answer to that, but it asks for a bunch of standard information, and the DS-160 reference number. I haven't progressed beyond the point of paying the application fee at this...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Ok that's good news, thanks.

What I'm trying to find out is that if they won't do it, at what stage do they tell you. It seems appointments are available based on the info provided, if I go ahead...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

So another question about the appointment booking. Perusing a few options, it seems there are no available appointments (at all) in Vancouver, however Montreal has appointments (22 day wait) and...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Absolutely not intending to lie, just trying to find out if Canada is even an option. Clicking through the appointments portal gives me:

So I imagine it depends how they define "residing".

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Ok, thanks.

When would you actually find out if they will process it or not, would they literally tell you in the interview that they wont process it?

Also anyone whos had success getting it in...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Ok, again apologies if this has already been answered.

Things are looking good for a job offer, and I just wanted to clarify something about physically where I can submit the E-3 application.

Thanks

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Hi all

First time poster so excuse me if this has been covered, I haven't read the entire thread.

I know it's stated quite clearly that it is not possible to be an independent contractor on the...
