Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I guess I could have done that, but because my visa run is just...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I lived in Auckland, NZ for 5 years before coming to the US. (I even did my Initial E-3 in Auckland. Brought paperwork with me to prove I was a NZ resident and been living there for the past half...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Somewhat of a valid point. ;)

Also, my employer is paying for my visa run to Aus so I basically get a free 2 week vacation to see family (haven't seen some of them - my mum especially - in years.)...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

The aussie consulate offered to let me get a new E-3 by mail as i am getting the same type of visa i was already...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

You can change of employer by USCIS or going to Canada. I'm currently changing employers to a large silicon valley company that uses immigration lawyers and they answered a lot of questions for me.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Employer needs to fill out an LCA and get it approved/certified and you need to fill out a DS-160 and then book an appointment at a US consulate.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I'm currently in the US. Working on on my very first E-3 that I got in Auckland, NZ. (I'm a perm resident and lived there a long time.) But i'm not an NZ Citizen, only Aussie.

Anyway. Got new job...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Oh wow. On a whim I actually took a printout of my CV to my visa interview today, guess it was a good idea? They actually accepted it as one of their documents.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

And so I got my E3. It was all pretty straight forward and went smoothly. Took 30mins total.

I went to the Consulate in Auckland, as I live in NZ. The first lady I spoke to had me hand all my...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

So I had them resubmit the form and redo the dates for a full 2 years (sept-2014 to sept-2016.) There's even an option to change a previously approved application on the form.

So now I will start...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yes, you are correct.

And because I don't really want to burn any bridges?

I work in a specialised sector. Granted, its in NZ and I may never return to NZ. If I don't stay in the US forever...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Thanks for your reply!

That won't work for me, there's no wait time at the consulate here. I can submit the form and have my interview Monday Morning. (Its Saturday night here and only got my LCA...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Additional question. Do I need to bring an actual photo to the interview? The DS-160 has you upload a digital photo and its not... 100% clear if I also need to bring an actual photo. Apparently some...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

So an interesting and strange dillema.

I recently had a US employer fill out an LCA for me and it was certified. (So approved, right?). The case number is my LCA number, yes?

The problem,...
