I'm going through the process right now. The E3 doesn't keep you from AOS to GC at all and as long as you plan it you shouldn't even have to test the theory that you can't renew an E3 while adjusting...

All it means is that once you file for a GC or an immigrant visa then you can no longer display that you don't intend to immigrate so you wouldn't be able to renew your E3.

I wouldn't bother with...
