If you throw around terms like 'socially aware and empathetic' to a uk male audience you might find out how stereotypically negative most uk males are too :-) but sorry to hear about your job loss. ...

I bow to your expertise.... but the better restaurants in Kerikeri (and I suspect the bigger NZ cities) are as good as anything I have experienced in UK or Europe. Agreed some of the more rural NZ...

Those are Chinese/Thai chefs for all those Asian restaurants - that was the standard route into Canada too.

So we need a new political party to straddle the gap - how about a libertarian laissez faire grouping that gets politicians out of our lives :-)

Labour just wants to protect the jobs/wage rates of its unionist paymasters and wouldn't recognise an economic strategy if it bit them.

True - I can remember in my youth UK interest rates at 15% and my first mortgage was at about 10% which was considered acceptable ! Can you imagine what would happen if that reoccurred (Brexit?)...
