True, wages are low - minimum wage in our area is 375pesos a DAY! By comparison with the locals we are well off with our UK pensions but as with Australia we would struggle back in UK with the cost...

At our favourite restaurant here, a bottle of San Mig light is 80 pesos but a cup of drip coffee is 90 pesos! even in the best hotels, coffee is more than a bottle of local beer....
