It sure isn't. I remember driving a rental Elantra from central FL to MA and back, a round trip of about 2600 miles and the average fillup was around $13. I think the whole trip was like $90 or so....

Maybe when gas hits $5 or $6 pg will they change maybe? It's the "drill baby drill" crowd who think it'll go back to $2 pg and those are the ones buying the gas-guzzlers.

True. It's 1.42 per liter average in UK now. I just can't believe the number of people here that will still buy 5 liter V8 gas-guzzlers :confused:

Seems it jumped to near $4 pg here in Fort Lauderdale. $3.97 for fill up today. Was $3.87 in Lakeland, FL over the weekend.

True. My current local area (Plantation) is almost always high but go just 2-3 miles up to Oakland Park area and it's almost always lower.

That's the bit that puzzles me too although I'm sure for Exxon executives it's an easy decision. All these big corporations and investors seem to be putting on pressure to make ever increasing...

Still hovering around the $3.40 mark in South FL although driving back from Key West going through Homestead area Saturday (in that heavy rain), it was about $3.30.

Not a trip but moving down there. The idea being the wife will have a better time finding work then here in SC (she's training to be a Pharmacy Tech). Yes there are those jobs here but they pay crap....

Correct. So much for the idea of free market competition lowering the cost :rolleyes: Filled up at Sams yesterday for $3.21. I hope Ft Lauderdale gets cheaper. I'll be down there from next week.

Yup it was $3.59 at Sams and the gas station across the road was $3.73. Unusual because they normally match Sams price. I guess with Memorial Day so close they feel the need to make some more $$$...

I arrived here at OBX (Outer Banks, NC) on Monday. Gas was $3.49. By yesterday it's up to $3.56. 7c in less than a week!

$2.74 yesterday at Sams. Most places are around the $2.80+ mark here now. One was $2.86.
