It seems to be getting worse.

Parcels from the UK sent on International Tracked & Signed service leave the UK 1-2 days after posting, but take 2 months to be delivered - about 4 or 5 times longer...

International stuff is ridiculous at the moment.

Items from the UK sent on fastest service taking 6-8 weeks to be delivered, despite arriving in Canada after 2-3 working days.

Small parcel (45g - laptop screws) despatched in Florida on 6th July. Arrived with Canada Post in Richmond a mere 2 days later.

Delivered in Maple Ridge yesterday....

Amazon Prime almost exclusively uses UPS. They do actually manage to deliver on time, although they have a habit of leaving things on the doorstep.

Amazon via Canada Post sucks, because Canada Post sucks. As you said, things can take forever to arrive in (the local Post Office in) Abbotsford from Richmond.

Amazon via UPS on the other hand can...

I send a large parcel to the UK in the middle of October last year, by the non-Airmail route, assuming that it would get there in approx 6 weeks estimated delivery time.

Plenty of time to arrive...

Canada Post are shockingly bad.

Their staff are also obviously told to lie about deliveries as well, presumably to artificially massage the on-time performance figures.

For parcels, 'Delivered'...
