Yep - minimum of 8 hours off between shifts, but could be more - check the paperwork that you were given/signed when you started (Employment Standards Act), hours between shifts is covered, as well...

I found it more annoying (back in the day), when you had to pay for hospital parking by putting coins into the swing-gate as you were exiting the lot - more than a few times you only realized that...
