You might be able to choose your consultant and pay the private fee for the initial consultation, but you might also have to wait a hell of a long time for the surgery!

Agree about the necessity to shop around, both for your private health fund and for anaesthetists.

I can only talk about HBF in WA, but I found them to be great. I had 3 surgeries in the few...
