I hate to be the bearer of bad news Kevin, but you're pretty much snookered.

Christmas is high peak time for airfares in Oz. I only have experience of flying out of Perth, but I can't imagine Qld...

I like Scoot, went to Singers early this year with them, the seats are comfy enough for 5 hours and the flight attendants are really nice.

Ooooh! Had another look, and can do PER-HKK-BKK-DOH-ATH. Very round about, but the layover times work, 2-3 hours in each airport (I don't want her stuck in airports for hours, she's not up to it)....

Can anyone suggest a route to search on KVS that will get someone from Perth to Athens around May? Have tried via Hong Kong, Shanghai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, KL, BKK with no luck. I'm not the best on KVS...

There's another dividend miles bonus running. Not quite as good as previous ones, for example if you buy or gift 80,000 miles you get a 50,000 miles bonus.

That's a great resource bcworld, thanks for posting it. I 'use' KVS but I know I don't get the best/most out of it, due to lack of knowledge. It did stand me in good stead for Scouse's two mercy...

I have 120,000 dividend miles left and want to see if I can use them for Perth - Athens - Perth around April 2015. My sister will have finished chemo by then and her second home is a small village...

Sorry you're having all this hassle, James. I can't offer any advice as I don't have Life Miles, just dividend miles. However, I wouldn't be hanging on the phone for that long, maybe just hang up...

How did you go with this, Mark? If you can't change the flight that gives you a 35 hour layover in Doha, I'd bite the bullet and get a cheap hotel room. 35 hours in an airport, even in a business...
