Quick note on entering the UK with a valid overseas passport and an expired UK one - I've done this more than once and never had problems. The only downside is having to wait in the (slowwwww)...

Yes, I reckon one could live on very little food-wise and have a healthy diet. Buy dried pulses in bulk, lots of in-season veggies, hearty veggie stew every day, perfect. It would get a bit boring...

It's a possibility! I remember thinking how big the toilets are in Canada when I first arrived. :o

I can't believe how many rentals don't have a dishwasher. It's barbaric! :confused:

No idea, sorry. Maybe have a surf around the online supermarkets and pet stores? There seems to be better quality dry food here in Canada than there was in the UK, but perhaps that's changed.

Didn't watch the oscars, spent most of today clearing off my desktop computer ready for its new home, and backing up data. Another job done! Everything seems to take a LOT longer than I thought, glad...

Perhaps the buyers had to pay to dispose of the paint? It's common here to have a clause in the contract that stipulates everything has to be removed or there will be a charge - partly because junk...
