Nope, mine was way out of date too, and the most recent trip I had dog with me. No worries, the people who work border control have a good feel of who's genuine and who's not - they have to have!...

Quick note on entering the UK with a valid overseas passport and an expired UK one - I've done this more than once and never had problems. The only downside is having to wait in the (slowwwww)...

Yes, I reckon one could live on very little food-wise and have a healthy diet. Buy dried pulses in bulk, lots of in-season veggies, hearty veggie stew every day, perfect. It would get a bit boring...

It's a possibility! I remember thinking how big the toilets are in Canada when I first arrived. :o

Perhaps the buyers had to pay to dispose of the paint? It's common here to have a clause in the contract that stipulates everything has to be removed or there will be a charge - partly because junk...
