She CLAIMS to hail from Bute. After the publication of the story there was much discussion on the island about who the writer might be. Conclusion is that her claim to originate from Bute is false.

One of our problems is that Oxbridge intellectuals depict us in ways that we would not portray ourselves. Why does "The Economist" not get a Scottish journalist or writer to tell the story ?

I have no plan - so nothing can go wrong. To Seil island by road using "The Bridge over The Atlantic". Then a small ferry from Cuan Ferry to The Isle of Luing. The ilandd is known for its own breed...

As for my travels cutting down and doing more day trips. I refuse to spend my declining years watching that nonsense on the Idiot Box ("The Gowks' Kist" as our great national poet called it)
