The reason I heard was DU30 was trying to stop all the foreigners from abandoning their cars beside the road when they left the country, apparently becoming a big problem for the locals.

The BB is not a visa it is a privilege, a visa waiver. There is no dedicated stamp, the usual 30 day entry stamp is dated 1 year instead of 30 days, in the past I have had BB hand written but...

If you are renewing a license why should there be a 12 month requirement. That only applies for your first license.

Have you just had it confirmed or have you actually got a DL as some LTO's appear unaware of the change and still hand out DLs to visitors. By the rules you actually need 13 months, 1 previous month...

The only visas valid for one year are resident types and perhaps work and student. Although you can stay as a tourist for 36 months the maximum length of any one visa is 6 months so you could not...

The rules changed last November, where applied you now need to be a resident to obtain a Philippine drivers license.
