It's can be a bit confusing, but I really liked it. They are all dream sequences. It's set in the present day, but has 80s references, so there it might be that the whole world has been constructed...

Have seen the third one and agree that it's not as good as the first two. Just constant battle scenes and a few too many cheesy quips from Simon Peg. I did like the space metropolis though...

Thanks Shaky. I can continue watching! I think I caught a swear in one of the episodes and thought, WTF! The quality of the graphics is really high, almost seems like a film.

By gritty, do you mean gory? Just into episode 3 where there suddenly some gore, which is not really my thing...does it...

I hardly know it. Although there is photo of the cast, and Whoopi Goldberg is in it wearing some ridiculous headgear. I think that sums it up !

First two Star Trek re-makes (JJ Abrahms). Saw them a couple of years ago and re-watched this week. Totally awesome. Haven't seen the third one (2016?) yet...but looking forward to when I do.

Yes I think that's pretty consistent with what I heard. I also like Tom Hanks, and thought he was great in Captain Phillips. Looking forward to see his new one set in DC.
