Package of Roquefort (sealed) in the fridge. I assumed it lasted forever, but it turns out use by October. Still ok? Or is blue cheese asking for trouble?

Re: Groceries

I've used online delivery several times, but I also prefer an in person shop. Even with a set shopping list I find items that I hadn't thought of or good deals.

Re: Groceries

The % fee does seem a bit unfair. For example if one were to stock up on various pharmacy items, all relatively small but high priced the deleivery fee would shoot up (despite very little increase...

Re: Groceries

I suppose that given the lower population density in NA, grocery delivery is going to be a more expensive proposition, hence the service fee.

Re: Groceries

It doesn't create enough of them, especially in the long run. And as you say, there is an unskilled segment of the workforce. Perhaps something that will come out of this pandemic is a realisation...

Re: Groceries

I didn't ! Normally they ask where shall I put them (groceries) but this was a drop at the doorway kind of deal. And there was a leaking bottle which created extra aggro and discussion.

Re: Groceries

Yeah, they're all going to go aren't they. To be honest, I'm surprised the transition is taking this long. It must 20 years since self checkouts were first introduced.

I've been in a bit of a ribeye phase of late. Typical prices are £4.50-5.90 for a 225g piece.

Re: Groceries

Yes, I like them roasted. But I thought the idea was that the veggies flavour the stew? How much beef do you put in if it's just beef?

Re: Groceries

Made a beef stew in the slow cooker. Problem is the root veggies, don't really like mush veggies. Throw them out or blend them. This time I did the latter to get the nutrition and thicken the...
