Guess what? I called a couple of lawyers explaining I need this affidavit made and signed by a Magistrate.

They said........'Magistrates will not sign such things. Magistrates do not sign...

We are in Coimbatore, South India. Got it, so Find a lawyer, make a document with her history and get him to get the Magistrate to sign it !

But will there be lawyers who know what we mean when we say we need an affidavit to prove our Indian Origin? What exactly are we supposed to say? :o

Was it difficult getting the affidavit made? I don't know where to start ! My only experience with courts in India was about 15 years ago and was TERRIBLE !

Hi,

I am in the situation now where I need one of these affidavits made for my mother. She was from India, but registered as a British National in 1983.

Unfortunately she doesnt have any of her...
