Yes you can apply for direct PR instead of practical visa after you got job in NZ.I did same thing and my application has been selected and INZ invited me for applying PR and now preparing my docs...

OOPS... actually getting PR thru SFV is better.. sorry for above reply...i misunderstood before...

Hi I am already in Nz and applied for direct residency(EOI).I think direct PR is better.But if its rejected then go for practical visa. Currently I am preparing all my documents .
