The next thing to arrive will either be a rejection letter or a passport. If they have requested fresh passport photos then I suspect it will the latter.

If they requested new passport photos then the likelihood is that they are about to approve the application if they haven’t already done so.

If they have asked for new photos then chances are it’s because they’re ready to issue their passport.

It’s probably because the Bangladeshi authorities are dragging their feet supplying what HMPO has asked for.

The passports are assessed and issued in the UK. They could well be a backlog with the Bangladeshi authorities in assisting HMPO making their enquiries.

The issue date can differ but the registration date shouldn’t.

So they can cancel it in case they decide you fraudulently obtained your British citizenship.

They can request information from third parties but it will depend on how long it takes for them to respond.

As you seem to be aware it’s illegal under Indian law for your wife to hold a foreign passport in addition to her Indian passport. By applying for her British passport she will have automatically...

Your wife should expect a lengthy wait. That her interview took place so quickly is a positive sign. Nothing to do for the time being but be patient.
