Re: British Passports when in Australia

If you renewing your passport then that would suggest that you are a British citizen and therefore you should not concern yourself with the possibility of a 'failed' application and therefore the...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

You may need to post the photos and form to someone who qualifies to be countersigned by them. They don't need to provide a copy of their passport if they hold a British or Irish passport.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

How old is the applicant? If it's a child under 11 years old then their photos must be countersigned but the person countersigning doesn't need to have known them for at least two years. They should...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

HMPO have given up asking you to submit any foreign passports you may hold - presumably because everyone was refusing to do so - and now only state they require a copy of every page. The advice has...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Not a problem if you stay airside. Otherwise you'd need six months validity to enter both Singapore and the UAE.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Little point in doing that now the backlog is starting to go down especially if you won't need to apply until next year. You might've as well renew via the UK and get your son a ten year old adult...

Go to the consulate and get an extra 12 months added. You can then renew it either when you visit the UK or on your return to Australia when the backlog is dealt with. For the API use the extended...

Re: UK Passport Office - So Frusrating!

The Adviceline is being swamped by complaints regarding processing delays. Make a complaint to your British MP. It's the only way you can skip the queue. Otherwise it's just a case of waiting for the...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Just include a note saying it needs to be retained for travel. I've yet to hear about anyone's application being delayed or the original requested if a photocopy was included.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Normal service standards times are four weeks for a renewal, six weeks for a first time application. However many BE posters are currently complaining of long delays of over three months.
