Bipat has given you all the info. Just wanted to add on the query you had that Magistrates do not sign any certificates, affidavits, etc. This is done by either a NOTARY PUBLIC...

No worries Manny, no trouble at all. Will share all info with you. Bipat has done all the paperwork and may be a better source of info.

About the outsourcing bit, IMHO its better you do it all...

Hello Manny, losing your passport wont affect your OCI application, nor should there be a delay because of it. It would have helped of course, but there are other documents you can submit to 'prove'...
