Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Thanks Jerseygirl - hopefully not - one handed typing is hard work! But, in the grand scheme of things, it's a nuisance, nothing more. As I keep saying to my stepchildren - there is always someone...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

It was a beautiful sunny weekend - went to the Grape Festival in Naples, NY. Only downside is this modern plastic splint I have on my arm makes my arm feel like it is in a sauna - really...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Oh I had a pet one of those when I was a kid, most boring pet ever. And I was constantly losing it in the privet bushes in the front garden!! All because my Mum refused to get a dog!

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Thank you - luckily it doesn't hurt yet! I suppose the silver lining in all this is I don't have to stay up really late tonight or get up early tomorrow

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

So yesterday I got up extremely early because I had a long list of things to do before my flight back to UK tomorrow evening. Then went to bed extremely late. Woke up a few hours later to find I...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I have tried kale every way I could possibly think of, but I really don't like it. I have finally given up, kale can stay with liver - anywhere but my kitchen!

I do love lentils but I just can't...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I did a taste test once, not on purpose. Some friends phoned one morning to say they were going to be passing our place later and could they drop in. I invited them for lunch and had to dash out to...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I bet they were delicious - the pictures of those pigs showed that they were well treated farm animals and, it seems, allowed out to pasture. Pastured meat is way nicer than factory farmed meat and...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

That sounds dreadful - the most I did was about 40 hours, then I went straight from work to a Hawkwind concert. Even the loudness of that concert couldn't keep me awake, I fell asleep near one of the...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Ahh - the day after moving is here - what a day it was!!! I was still packing boxes when the movers turned up, I was totally ashamed of the state of the sofa when they lifted the cushions - I hadn't...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

So, I can't believe I gave myself and my OH a full month between closing on a house and moving day - tomorrow, no wait - TODAY!! Yet, even with all the best intentions of sorting through every box...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I totally agree - I lived next door to a really spiteful, nasty boy when I was a kid. Every pet they had either ran away or just plain disappeared! But he was always doing horrible things to those...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I actually don't think it is over the top - it would be if it was just one cat maybe, but 18!! And not just killed, tortured too. Totally sick, and for most people, their pets are part of the family....

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

I actually walked up to the truck and asked after seeing it happen a few times. I was told by the guys collecting the recycling that the council had paid for separate bins but not for the correct...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Ahh, back in England I lived in a place where you had to separate the recycling, which I coped with until one day I watched the recycling collection - they took the individual containers and threw...

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

So on a slightly related subject, the last time I came back from UK, I brought some of my Dad's books back. He was very into military history, so lots of books about World War II. Anyway, when I got...
