We applied to the Durham office from the USA, I think the US is a low risk country hence the speed. We didn't need any interviews and our countersignature was not contacted.

Just wanted to let folks know I applied for babys first passport from the US and it took less than 2 weeks.

Does anyone know how your supporting documents are returned to you? The passport came via DHL is that what happens with the other docs too?

Wow that was so quick! I'm also in the US and incredulous that it is taking this long for my sons especially since he has a consular birth certificate already.

It is much slower when applying from anywhere outside the UK. I'm in the US - we are on week 9 too.

I only applied (from the US) about 5 weeks ago, still waiting but I expected that.

Thanks, I meant I could see the payment charge on my credit card before I had even shipped off the declaration form and all my supporting documents.

I guess I just need to wait now.

I am just starting this process just now for my baby (we are in the US)
I completed the online application yesterday (June 12th), I'm sorting out the countersignatory just now and then will pop it...
