Re: Pet Peeves?

Lit??? With what kind of lights? Come to think of it, seems to me there were some solar lantern-like things on graves in the cemetery in Southampton when we went for BIL's funeral. Because it was...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Seems to me I heard there's to be legislation soon against such memorials - at least here in Tennessee. Claims have been made about the danger of distraction (as you pointed out). I never could...

Re: Pet Peeves?

A further peeve: Most of the people who complain about the "blandness" of British food have never tasted the real stuff! The ones who've actually tasted British foods have usually eaten in a posh...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Glad your "re-do" was successful. Your US guests may have been a little leery of English cuisine and likely pleasantly surprised that it was tastier than English fare is usually touted over here....

Re: Pet Peeves?

Ohhhh, that's a relief! Not that they had the misfortune of the car/mobile phone catastrophe, but that there was a legitimate reason for their seemingly crass behaviour. I'm so glad all is...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Now, if the kid comes down with a case of mumps bad enough to sterilize him, that could be the end of that family line. Maybe that particular gene pool needs shrinking? :-/

Re: Pet Peeves?

I'm not worried about immigrants bringing it in! (at least not the legal ones). I'm more worried about the idiots who refuse to have the vaccinations or let their children have it - like you said. ...

Re: Pet Peeves?

Thanks for the info - didn't know there really are moose lights! And I didn't know moose' eyes don't reflect light as would be expected. Do they not glow at all like other animals' eyes? Never saw...
