re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Yeah, the landing was great. The people I dealt with were so kind and informative. The immigration officer who signed off my COPR was chatting about how unusual it is to see UK nationals immigrating...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

[cross-posted on the canadavisa forum, I'm too lazy to compose a whole new message recounting this tale so just copying/pasting over here, hope that doesn't break any rules]

I can't believe it's...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I got my COPR today finally!

Interestingly, I took my medical on 10 Feb 2012 but my validity extends to 26 October 2013, which is presumably 12 months after the date they processed the last bits...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Eeeeeee :fingerscrossed:

Thanks for the input, both of you! I know it's coming 'soon' (their word) since they told me so in an email, and I already know it will be a positive decision, but I was...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Ecas has changed for me and is now showing "Your current home address" as well as "Your current mailing address" (previously it was just "Your current mailing address"). Does this mean what I think...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

So seven weeks had passed since I submitted the information requested in my second medical furtherance letter so I sent a case-specific enquiry a couple of days ago to check whether they received it...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

That's a relief!

Well, I guess not really since they've probably been twiddling their thumbs over your application, waiting for documents they evidently already had.

What do you suppose would...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

That's great news! I am eating my words after saying I thought it was unlikely you would get sponsor approval before your journey to Canada, you're approved with a couple of weeks to spare!

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I did it through this:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

This (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp#pay-fee) is the sponsorship guidance...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I sent my forms stapled and had no problems. This has come up a few times and every time I check the forms and I have still never seen anything in the checklists about it. Apparently there used to be...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I got my GCMS notes, interesting read. We ordered them before my most recent medical furtherance letter arrived and clearly the medical stuff is a known hold-up now. But it's good to see where things...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

In our case my husband (sponsor) got an email acknowledging receipt of the application and then a few days later I was able to log in with the UCI and see decision made on the sponsor. The sponsor...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

The letter is something you would receive if CIC want you to complete additional medical requirements, i.e. if they find something wrong or unusual in your medical and want to investigate further....

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Oh, I also meant to say that receiving that medical letter doesn't necessarily entail that your application as a whole has been looked at.

I got my medical furtherance letter about a month after...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Why hello! Welcome to my world.

Most commonly this seems to concern tuberculosis, or at least most cases of medical furtherance that I've read about online are for that reason.

Assuming your...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

ARGH!

I've had another letter from London looking for another x ray from me. It has to be no less than 6 months after my original x ray, so at least that date has already passed now and I can just...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

My husband and I live apart. As far as I can tell from other people's stories/history, that's not necessarily a problem, but I can sort of imagine that it would give the visa officer cause to look a...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

The 7 month figure isn't an average, it actually means that 80% of applications are processed within 7 months (I suspect an average wouldn't be a useful measure because any anomalies that took a long...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Recorded delivery stuff usually gets returned after a week, I think? Still, definitely worth checking with the post office.

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

2nd stage seems to be 2-3 months for most people according to that spreadsheet paul just posted. I can't remember what exactly the 7 month stat means, I think it's like 80% of cases are processed...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Yeah I noticed that earlier too. The French and English sites say different things for me, but some people over on canadavisa mentioned they can see 84 and jan 17th on the English version too. No...
