Highly doubtful unless you've spent major cash on it. All 3 major indices show house prices at the end of 2011 very similar to 2005, in fact depending when you bought in 2005 it could be down quite a...

Another 2.7 trillion of debt is hardly good new for the US economy :lol:

Expected savings will never materialise, US economy will flounder, AUD will strengthen even further, expect 1 AUD = 1.25...

Interest rates go up, house prices plummet even faster, mortgage rates go up, people can't pay, people evicted, banks get saddled with depreciating assets, banks go bust again and MP's BTL empires...

You've made it clear in your own post that the factors affecting the GBP/AUD rate (the whole point of the thread) are different to those affecting the USD/AUD, which was kind of my point.

a fair bit yes.

None of it explains why the strength of the $US affects the exchange rate between the AUD and GBP.

Since 2001 the GBP and USD have fallen 50% against the AUD, yet remained...
