I reckon Adelaide is equivalent to Nottingham for size and has good tram/bus network. I reckon Bristol comes close in size but the transport there ain't great.

The amount of retail etc is greater in the UK than every place in Oz bar Sydney and Melbourne, fact. It's depends on what you do for hobbies or interests but I generally find Oz much more frustrating...

I know there are exceptions in the UK. There is everywhere but the exception is more the rule here in Oz. Certainly is in Brisbane. You can't get a craphole for less than $350K within 30k of brisbane.
