I've noticed that, Ambra. There seem to be quite a few "professional Romans" on TV. It reminds me a bit of "professional Australians" (who are always criticised for putting it on back in Australia)...

ononno - yep I've noticed that here in Rome. My DH's two best (male) friends get together and speak the thickest romanesco you've ever heard. When I first moved here it was really difficult for me...

We have a Florentine friend who comes to visit ogni tanto and when i first heard his accent I thought it was a speech impediment! Every C becomes an H and he seems to have a lisp as well. Anyway...
