This isn't exactly a project, but - those little balls you get to put into your shower head that supposedly reduce water deposit or something. Do they actually do any good, and do they impede water...

No idea, tbh. My sister also has a shower pump. It seems to be a thing, but my knowledge on the subject is pretty much zero.

It's municipal water. Comes in from the mains ground level.

Could the pump be working even though it's silent? Seems wrong somehow.

Maybe I should use some rubber gloves.

Is there anything to this idea that wires will run horizontally out from switches/outlets, or vertically from them but in line?

So the butterfly thingies came with the shelf. I'm less worried about weight than I am about electrocuting myself at 220. I would like to avoid putting a drill/screwdriver/screw into a live wire.
