Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I have seen a couple and really enjoyed them. The charity helpline one was excellent! True black humour. It's written by the two stars apparently.

I am loving Peter Kay's Car Share, which someone...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

I'm loving Ordinary Lies - set in a car dealership but telling the story of different employees who all have secrets. Each episode focuses on a different central character, and the secrets are not...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Disappointed with the new Poldark - seems to really drag and the guy they have playing Poldark is totally without sex appeal or charisma. Pretty but dull!

I am behind on this show but just started...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

My friend is a writer and he's often asked to go to week-long writing sessions at the BBC. At the end of the week, they invariably tell him that his work just isn't 'gritty' enough but please keep...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Thanks to whoever mentioned Happy Valley. Despite living here now I don't keep up with TV and never know what's on. I've watched all 3 episodes on iPlayer and am really enjoying it, although the...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Oh you're so lucky! Episode 1 is masterful and the last episode of season 2 is maybe the best thing I've ever seen on TV. Enjoy!

It never occurred to me that I might be able to access US Netflix...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

What I loved about "The 7.39" is that everyone was so human. It was what Last Tango in Halifax could have been if it hadn't got so 'soapy.' I just felt for everyone of the characters - even the...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Just a quick note to recommend a show currently on iPlayer called 'The 7:39." It's a two-part story about two people who meet on a train. Very well-written and beautifully acted, and I thoroughly...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Sherlock is back! I just watched the New Year's Day episode and absolutely loved it. Such a bummer that they only make 3 episodes every few years, but I will savour this one by watching it again in a...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Theres no need to download software on Darewall. I watch tons of stuff on there and haven't downloaded a thing. Had a lovely few hours watching 'Love Actually' on Christmas Eve and it was so nice to...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Did they ask him about that awful Yorkshire accent?

It really drags me out of the show every time he speaks. The woman who plays his girlfriend/now wife has it just right, but Derek just can't get...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Love that show! He's hilarious.

Last Tango in Halifax is just on the right side of soap opera for me, but it veers dangerously close to the wrong side every week. Hope they keep up the...

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

It's bizarre but it totally works. I hate reality TV and I'm hooked. All the people are so endearing, and so funny. Especially the rich couple who just sit and get sloshed every night.

Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Gogglebox is the weirdest and best show on TV at the moment IMHO.

Basically, we just watch people watching TV. It's hilarious! Here they are watching...
