Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

Burbank is a nice town. There's lots to do, nice walking town. I was there this morning, that's where the gas Costco I was talking about is located. Forgot about the gas when I was there.;)

Unconscious sort! Fortunately these ladies are well protected and valued for their contribution. The owners had a duck who was in love with one of the chickens, but drove it crazy, so they re-homed...

Hopefully not too long till you hear something. Keep us updated.

I'm off to housesit for a friend this weekend. Two dogs, one cat, and fifteen chicken (all named), right here in the middle of LA,...

I'm sorry to hear about your DH. Tomorrow you should know something, so that's good. What kind of nurse are you, RN LVN? Are you unemployed by choice or the boonie thing?

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

Sad when one's feeling of self-worth come from the outside.
Living in LA, I think we're experts about egos. Everywhere, egos in clothes struggling for recognition and validation. Still there is a...

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

I'm fine with eating plants. Yeah, I tend to just cringe inside and not look at what other people are eating. Personal choice and just a matter of perspective, don't feel I should be judging anyone...

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

I absolutely understand your perspective. Back in the day, maybe 25 or 30 years ago, I was a vegetarian. For some reason I learned, or heard about plants taken on airplanes, and plants that they had...

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

Just read this when reading about Steve Jobs, who is a pescetarian:
Turns out if you compare pescetarians with regular meat-eaters they have a 34% less chance of dying of heart disease. And if you...

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

I had read that PETA is funding bio-engineered (think thats what it's called) meat, sort of like growing fake skin and organs in the lab. Might be hope there. If I was a better cook it would really...

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

I feel like such a hypocrite. I can buy fillet of fish or headless shrimp but nothing with eyes. I draw the line at lobster and crab in any form....overwhelming guilt there for me.

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

I'd probably call myself a guilt-ridden pescatarian. I imagine the seafaring creatures will also become safe from me at some point, maybe when I move back to UK where there are reportedly many more...

Angry Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK - Part II

I really don't understand why everyone thinks that the Allied Nations are doing such a wonderful thing in Libya. They never do squat about atrocities by leaders against their people all over Africa....

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK-Silly Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread

Good to hear. I had five Borzois at one time and had them on a raw food diet. Quite a bit of work but worth it. Each got 3 raw chicken quarters and then all the veggies and supplements. 10lb bag a...
