It just took around 30 seconds to confirm that Scott Ludlam would be a dual citizen - born in NZ to NZ parents - using NZ citizenship checker. It actually took longer for me to find his name.

You do not need a certificate to show you are a true citizen. Lots of people have children here who are British Citizens by descent who have neither passport or certificate - and neither is needed to...

I tweeted Barnaby Joyce in July and asked if he renounced NZ citizenship as his father was born in NZ and I thought he was likely a citizen by descent - think I said so on here too.

If you've tried to renounce a dual citizenship but are unable to, then I think from what I've heard that that is good enough as not...

Except that he admits to discussing it in 2005 or 2006, which would mean that they looked at whether or not they were Italian by descent - and since that is without limitation he should have realised...
