Metro is driverless mate.

I'm a bit surprised that they would employed expensive western drivers in Abu Dhabi on a freight line - although people have gone and tried it...And hated it I believe....

They won't boot the operator straight away - but almost all partnerships between local and western companies self implode.

Make sure they pay you a lot. The staff turnover and decision making at Etihad (at least was) erratic to say the least.

I would be surprised if you last the 3 years of your visa.
