Good point! Some states have some ridiculously low minimum coverage levels, which as far as I can tell are designed for students, rednecks, and habitual drunks, because nobody with any sense would...

As others have said, $2,000/yr is about the starting point, so $2,400 for a shiny new Explorer Sport sounds about right.

The only good news I have is that the cost is likely to decline fairly...
