With "the marriage route" you can work as soon as you clear immigration, it is when using "the fiancé route" that might have a significant gap during which you cannot work, at least not legally.

I am not going to disagree with any of that, other than to say that some people use the 80-85 days to pull together as big a family event as they can muster - venue, catering, "the dress", get family...

Agreed but you do have to wait for your EAD which takes anywhere between 2 and 4-5 months after you get married. .... Working for a few weeks between arrival on a K-1 and getting married is going to...
