And it turns out the OP only has one Canadian flavour passport in his physical posession at this juncture so no issues for him for the time being ;)

But why would anyone use a UK passport to go USA if they had a Canadian one? Surely having a Canadian passport means they are citizens, and therefore given up the PR card. Using a UK passport to get...

As I see it any one wanting to visit Canada who does not own a Canadian passport will need a eTA and can apply online and get the OK within minutes. Then go purchase a plane ticket.

Who cares what passport u use, unless u is a passport snob and must only travel on a UK PP then that's your own fault as far as I can see !!
