Thing is, it's the interpretation of the laws, this guy is advertising a non uae based charity, he's not asking for money to be sent to him, but unfortunately, he's been "caught", (I wonder who grassed him up and why). I agree that charities here should be regulated, there are so many rip off merchants here, but this guy is innocent - from what i understand.

The charity in question has full US charitable status and does great work for very sick children in Afghanistan. I know the people who run it and a good friend works for them. They are good people doing good work.
Someone must have reported him and made a complaint for there to have been an issue and that's a lousy thing to do.

He has an enemy. That enemy reported him. Best to stay squeaky clean in the UAE.

The golf society I played in basically closed down for this exact reason despite raising a boat load of money for a Middle Eastern charity.

Who knows the ramifications, AS SEEN BY AN EMIRATI, of giving to a charity in Afghanistan. Are they Shia ? Sufi ? Are they perceived as being run by CHRISTIANS ? Or the CIA ? Muddy waters. Best to stay away
