What's the greatest thing you've heard recently?
Following on from Meow's thread.... What have you heard recently that you just thought was completely and utterly mega...you know, good news or something funny or a new phrase you liked, anything.
Mine was yesterday...my new boss told another bloke he was "as useful as a one legged man at an arse kicking contest"
Pissed myself.

That sounds good. At the other end of the spectrum, a certain company I know had its first management meeting of the year in September, and there's not another scheduled. Word has it that Teutons have learnt our speciality of divide and rule.

It started off at the end of the week on a Wednesday - none of the arabs turned up. It was shifted to the start of the week on a Saturday - none of the arabs turned up. Its now on a Sunday - some of the arabs turn up, unprepared, late, dont switch thier phones off, demand only Nestle water and leave early.
3 hours of complete nonsense and zero action. I love it.

Ours is a weekly internal event.
It started off at the end of the week on a Wednesday - none of the arabs turned up. It was shifted to the start of the week on a Saturday - none of the arabs turned up. Its now on a Sunday - some of the arabs turn up, unprepared, late, dont switch thier phones off, demand only Nestle water and leave early.
3 hours of complete nonsense and zero action. I love it.

2hrs plus to talk about what 30ish idiot recruiters are doing...despite 10-12 people being in the management meeting (nearly half the office. What's the point?)
Then individual team meetings followed. 45 minutes of what happened in the management meeting.
Then a Thursday team meeting to review the week to prepare for the Sunday management meeting.
UNbelievable waste of life.

After leaving Dubai a couple of years back and since 'retired', I've taken to gardening in a big way. We've been having a few wintry and rainy days here in Melbourne. Seeing these beautiful Irises and Aquilegia blooming all over my garden this morning made my day!
