Yeah and to judge people. Anyone who drinks Carling for example, is a peasant.

When I go out to drink my standard order is a pint of Carlsberg.... wonder what you'd make of me.

Just a terrible choice.
But I guess it's like everything, different tastes, budgets, preferences, styles etc etc.

I think Carlsberg is piss water like Carling, but that's just my preference.

3.8% isn't it?

I do like a good beer and can appreciate a fine German or Czech beer but for regular HH drinks having a few Carlsberg allows me to get through the evening and still wake up the next day clear headed.

Can't stay that for Leffes, for example.

Fair point. I never really consider this with beer actually. Only in Thailand did I notice that Chang is strong (6ish percent)...otherwise I don't really pay much attention to it. I walk in a bar, ask for a Heineken and drink it.

Peroni used to be a favourite but it gives a bad headache I find.
I had Budweiser at Marti Pellow's gig at the weekend (awful btw) and that was pisswater too.

Turns out I am quite fussy for lager.

i Have a friend who is Vegan. She is a good cook however the tofu based dishes are usually rank. She did make me steak and chips and used wheat gluten for the steak and she plonked on some peppercorn sauce. To be honest it tasted meaty. It was odd as i knew it wasn't meat but it tasted like steak. There again i am from an era where you ate what you put in front of you

Vegans and their self righteousness, refusing to serve carnivores meat. Disgraceful.

Difference between being a beer snob and fuss I think is that I just won't drink stuff that's total piss. Heineken is fine, as are many other tap regulars. Carling, Carlsberg etc are all total piss.

I had Hepatitis A as a young man, and had to be off alcohol for 6 months, during that time, when out with mates I did dronk non alcoholic beer but really only to 'fit in' the only one available at that time was Caliber, and it was pretty awful.

Yeah I remember Caliber or was it Kaliber? It looked like a beer I suppose.

There used to be adverts on TV for Barbican I think, the soft drink non alcoholic beer. All these hip dudes meeting up for a party after Friday work drinking Barbican
