All the bars in the UK now stink of farts, spew, stale beer and red bull. At least previously the smoke masked it.

28. About 7 years. Started on a work piss up in Budapest on Marlboro reds for some reason.

I smoked in a mall in Kuwait only a few years back. Didn't really like it.

As for indoor smoking in offices, isn't it technically illegal in Dubai?

I remember going to a client office for a meeting and there were no-smoking signs posted but the place stunk to high heaven (all locals/Arabs/South Asian expats).
****, spot on. You stalker.
Stairwells seem popular, our one at work ****ing stinks (only been in it once mind).

Greeks included.

Smoking in the UK is hard work in some places. You're made to feel like a proper wrong'un at times.

Just my 2 ha'pth. I started smoking at school, maybe 14 or 15 and I stopped at 46. So about 10 years ago now. It took about 2 seconds to stop, I remember waking up in the morning and with 2 in the pack couldn't be bothered to drag myself to the nearest 7-11 about a kilometre away. So that was it. The pack with the 2 in went straight in the bin and I've never looked back.

My guiding principle was that all I had to do if ever I wanted a smoke was do something that precluded it. Hop in the shower, hop on the wife etc etc. Also made myself a jam butty whenever I could feel the need. Took about 2 weeks and that was it. Time to time still get that slight tinge but since I'm a 'non' that's all it is.

Been through all the tough ones, a week in a hotel room in Saudi with nothing to do. That's a pretty good test.

I do think that wanting to stop is the single biggest driver though.

Once the upsides started to kick in, taste, physical stamina, I think it would be hard to go back.
