Alright dickheads.

I'm only 29. She's 30. We are both kids from broken homes. Only in the last year or so are we both in the place that 7 years I are we just totally comfortable that it's us forever. It's been us forever since day one but maybe history makes it makes you think harder. She's the one. No doubt. She's amazing. She's wonderful and makes me the happiest guy ever. I want her to be mrs Scamp forever. I'm saving for the ring so it'll happen. But when I and we want it to.

I never understood why people pressure other people into getting married: it's a totally personal decision, important to some and meaningless to others, appropriate for some and wildly unsuitable for others. I guess it's about conforming but I still don't get why people, even close friends and family, feel so free to have their public say on such a private matter.

So have a lovely trip, no pressure whatsoever!

There's a fine line between friendly disagreement and civil rationality and sneering patronisation and contempt for the opposite side and unfortunately you quite often forget it

It is what it is. I don't get any pressure from any family at all. I don't get pressure from her or from myself. I get the odd 'your next' from the boys at golf or the pub etc but genuinely no pressure.

Our backgrounds make it an important step for us and she wants to look forward to it and have it ahead. She wants to stay young and free spirited I think....getting married will tick such a large rite of passage that I think she'll feel she's 'getting old' etc.

It is what it is, it'll happen when it does and yes, you can buy a new hat.

It is what it is, we're all different, taking the positive, at least it's a different question to 'when are you having kids' or 'when are you moving home'....because it's boring replying with - 'after we're married' and 'when you idiots have stopped trying to ruin the country'.
