Somewhere nice for the weekend?
Ok it's mrs spugsy's birthday on Saturday, we were going to stay somewhere nice on Friday and spend the day saturday there,
we were thinking of Hatta Fort, although our mates were there at teh weekend and said you need to know where you're going really, and also the pools there aren't so great this time of year,
any other suggestions of a nice place to go? Not too far (she will be driving), but still out of Dubai....

Re: Somewhere nice for the weekend?
bollocks, Hatta is a piece of piss to get to, as are the pools.
Go on hatta road, ie one that goes past dragon mart, keep on that road until youi get to the hotel.........really is that easy.
Hatta pools, which is actually miles from Hatta will be a) half empty cos its the back end of summer and b) full of eid campers so best avoided
other suggestions, bam al shambles, al maha, or as your in mirdiff the six senses at zighy bay isnt far. you may have difficulty getting a room anywhere to be honest, the hotels tend to be full over eid.

Re: Somewhere nice for the weekend?
why does it have to be out of Dubai...
One and Only Royal Mirage is nice, Mina Al Salaam, Al Qasr...all lovely 'Arabic style' hotels that will be able to give you a pampered feeling, nice pools, spas, the beach, restaurants....

Re: Somewhere nice for the weekend?
Jebel Hafeet is always a laugh and pretty cheap leaving more money for the important things like beer!

Re: Somewhere nice for the weekend?
Al Ain - cheaper, very much not Dubai (Hilton, Jebel Hafeet, Intercon)
Al Maha if you can stretch to it.
