So how is Dubai these days?.. Have things picked up?
Has the economy got any better and do you think the expo will actually create a wealth of new projects???
Im starting to miss Shwarma.....so thinking of heading back

Can't speak for Dubai, as I'm in Abu Dhabi. Judging by the number of people I know who've been given their Don't Come Sunday awards lately, I should think things are not as glitzy as they appear. When they are trying to institute pay cuts in the face of reported intentions of giving pay rises it makes me wonder whether there is a serious amount of spin doctoring going on here - or if they've decided to push out 'expensive' Western expats in favour of cheaper ones from elsewhere.
