Default Rent renewal Abu Dhabi

So much for the 5% cap on rent rises being removed only affecting tenants who have been in a property for years. Just had my renewal on my rent come through, only been here a year, landlord wants an extra 32%.

Considering I paid the market rate when I took the lease out last year and the landlord knew he would be limited to a maximum 5% increase, this smacks of being a tad greedy and opportunistic. So after a year I now have to pay more moving fees, more agent fees and all the hassle that comes with it. Makes me think why I am here to be honest.

The cynic in me wonders whether the architect of this move owns a couple of moving companies....or realestate agencies.

Seriously, where else in the world is the tenant responsible for the letting fees?
