Redundant here but considering KSA?

Redundant here but considering KSA?
Hey all,
Been living here in DXB since laste summer '08 and like the unfortunate many i too have recently been made redundant so its time to take stock and weigh up your options? I have made some great friends here in DXB and whilst this place doesn't really live up to my expectations and its incredibly bland, i wont let it beat me!
The point to my post, aside from hawking myself to any recruiters out there specialising in real estate, is to pick peoples brains on KSA and Qatar? I have seen a ton of jobs available in these countries and am seriously considering it. I know all the obvious disadvantages of other GCC states in relation to UAE but want to know if anyone has any suggestions on finding a job, living there (does everyone live in a compound and if so are they owned by companies, ie you can live in them if you work at Aramco etc).
