Default Ramadan question

Hello all

Long time since I’ve been on here but I’m hoping you might be able to help me anyhow.
Assuming Ramadan starts Saturday 22nd August, does that mean that the bars will be closed on the Friday night or will they be open as usual?
If the bars are open when does the whole no entertainment policy kick in?

Good luck

J.

it's usually dry from 7pm the night before ramadan til 7pm the next night...no entertainment from then onwards...apart, of course, from quiz night at aussie legends, which is "educational", lol...

Don't plan anything for Friday 21 August..............

According to my "Mickey Mouse's Guide To Ramadan", it could start on Friday or even Thursday...........

Could be - it's a lunar monthly cycle thing.

Sha'ban has an estimated 30 days this year but the middle of that month could either be 5 or 6 August........ the moon looked pretty full last night (which is mid-month).

Best avoid any unchangeable plans around those days.

I cant remember last year, so apologies for asking a dumb question....

During Ramadan, after 7pm or 8pm each night, do the bars / restuarants open as normal ?

Have a visitor coming out around then and just wondered, or it could be a lot of nights in watching DVD's !

Are the bars open ?

When you say live music, do you mean 'dj music' or some dodgy 'live band' ?

bars are open, but no music or just some background music...it's all toned down, clubs aren't open as far as I remember as there is no dancing allowed...which in your case is a bonus I guess...

Oiii.....Dubai will be a worse place for not allowing my dance floor moves, I'll have you know !

And seeing as you dance like a worm in a sock yourself, any criticism of mine is laughable !
