Quantum of Solace
To the Odeon, Tunbridge Wells (I know, I know......) for the new Bond on its first day on general release..........
Firstly - the old Bond thing (one-liners of unsubtle sexual innuendo, silly gadgets like wristwatches with atomic bombs hidden inside, etc) are gone forever. Q's non-appearance in Casino Royale is continued here. Bond's Aston Martin doesn't even appear to have bullet-proof shields.
Great car chase, and another of those chases on foot across rooftops that were so good in the last one.
This is a much harder kind of film altogether, even more so than Casino Royale. It doesn't quite live up to that - which I thought was the perhaps the best Bond movie of all - but this reminds me more of one of the Bourne films than anything.
And Craig is again excellent - a real hard bastard.
And a new development (as far as I can remember) - he gets drunk.......

Never really been that much into the whole Bond thing, although of course as a kid, always watched the Sean Connery Bond films when they were on the telly.
Did watch Casino Royale though and thoroughly enjoyed it, great film, and was impressed by Craig, didn't think he would make a good Bond when he was announced but he did carry it off very well.Like you, thought the roof top chases in the first 20 mins of Casino Royale were superb.
Due back to Blighty early Dec, wonder if Quantam of Solace will still be doing the rounds at the picture houses then?

Re: Quantum of Solace
Forgot to mention one bit that a lot of people seem to have commented on..... a sort of parody/tribute (?) to a previous Bond movie - Goldfinger.
Shirley Eaton was killed by being covered in liquid gold; here a girl from the British Embassy is killed by being covered in oil - both girls found in virtually identical poses, if memory of Goldfinger serves me well..........
Strange......... not sure what they are getting at...........
