No! Quantam Leap was a great show. It had Scott Backula and Dean Stockwell in it.

Agreed. On another thread it was suggested (no, insisted) that it implied disrespect. Maybe in some tight London clique or whatever, but in my world of international business its recognised as a friendlier version of "regards" or "best regards". And I've yet to be shown any authority that demonstrates a disdainful edge to it.

It just smacks of condescension, how do you know that person is acting out of kindness? and it's over used.
What's wrong with the traditional Yours sincerely or just plain Regards?

Those to whom I use it know me well enough to know that I'm using it sincerely -- either from having met, or from that way that we interact electronically. And vice versa.

I think the negative interpretation says more about the cynicism of the reader than the intent of the writer.

I mean it pleasantly. I'm ending this email with Kind Regards, from me to you.

If you take that negatively, you'd have to be trying really hard to do so, in which case, you didn't deserve my kind regards in the first place....

I use just 'regards' to a few in the organisation who must now know that it means I hate them

When I get emails from British commercial/business entities "Kind Regards" is the norm.

I have not found it to be common from American commercial/business entities.
