Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi to all expats in Riyadh
I have now been in Riyadh for 2 weeks and would like to hear from people about what they do as entertainment. The adjustment of living in a compund is not too bad however getting out to meet people is a challenge particularlywhen I cant drive anywhere... How do you meet people, are there any events on that I can go to? Any clues would be great
Thanks
Di

Would like to hook up with some westerners for a night out. Riyadh isn't exactly a wild town (Except for the drivers). Does a night out mean out of the country?

Hi, everyone my name is Mark,I think the site is great. Lots of useful info.
I've had an offer of a job at Kaust. Dont know what to do. I never thought about working abroad untill I saw the job advert quite by accident. I'll post more info and questions once i've had the nod off you guys.

Ooooh Eva, that's harsh!!! Funny thing is I've never met anyone who won't swear the Scotsman/woman is the most generous in the bar and will sell the shirt off his/her back to buy the next pint.
Sounds really altruistic but I put it down to alcoholism personally.
Anyway, there (really) is a big difference between Aberdeen (copper-wire-from-a-penny and 50p-with-a-spanner jokes aside) and Aberdeenshire.
Your comments indicate more about your childhood than mine I think ....
