National Sandwich Week 2011
Starts on 26th May according to The British Sandwich Association. 
They also have their annual awards this week, the Sammies, which include British Sandwich Designer of the Year

In the spirit of celebrating one of our greatest inventions (their words), what's your favourite sandwich?

I just made myself 2 toasted cheese and bacon sarnies, now being washed down with a cuppa.

Cheese and jam
Cold baked beans
Crisps
nowadays it'd be something like pulled pork and homemade chutney
proper salt beef from Brick Lane

Prawn & crispy bacon
Thin steak with stilton
Banh Mi (pork, salad, herbs version)
Whent comes to pre-packed sandwiches in the UK chicken is the most popular filling at 24%
